About

Dario Boldrini is an independent Italian filmmaker. His debut feature Amnesia – It’s Time to Forget (2025) is a 113-minute noir/thriller shot entirely at night in Tuscany, Italy.

Born and based in Monsummano Terme (Tuscany), Boldrini comes from a professional background in software development. A self-taught filmmaker, he applies a technical and analytical mindset to writing, directing, and post-production, with particular attention to sound and atmosphere.

Amnesia marks his feature debut as writer and director and is the first full-length film entirely shot in his hometown. The project was developed and produced independently with a cast and crew of emerging local talents, embracing a “cinema at zero kilometers” approach: rooted in territory, yet conceived for a broader cinematic language.

The film premiered to a sold-out audience in May 2025 and has since entered the international independent festival circuit, receiving awards and official selections. Its production was supported by local institutions and private sponsors, highlighting Boldrini’s ability to combine creative vision with practical production leadership.

Influenced by 1990s psychological cinema and surreal noir atmospheres, Boldrini’s work explores memory, identity, and marginalization through precise visual construction and immersive sound design. His approach balances experimentation with rigorous planning, often favoring unconventional technical solutions to achieve a distinct aesthetic.

Boldrini is currently developing his next film project. Further details will be announced as production progresses.
